July 2005
As we head into July, we are getting ready for our hectic part of the season. We had good turnouts at Seymour and Wind Lake along with great weather. Our next outing is a small show at the A&W on 27th and Grange on Monday evening July 11th. Everyone is welcome but on such short notice we are only expecting a few cars. We then head to Fish Days in Port Washington on the 16th. Again, quickly set up but we are all welcome to participate. The $10.00 entry fee will be waived for our group. Champion Chicken takes place on Tuesday the 19th on 87th and Lisbon. This is a must see event for the fans. Plenty of cars and former drivers attend this one. I hear Miles Melius has this one circled on his calendar! The 22nd is a dual show day! One at The Milwaukee Mile for the Open Wheel Vintage Show. and the other at the Dodge County Fairgrounds for the Sue Thiel Memorial. Both should be great shows! The following day we head to Manitowoc for the annual EWSC Legends night which is always a popular one. the following week, Johnny V's on 84th and Mitchell would like a few of our cars to be on display on Saturday July 30th. Our most exciting news is the announcement of the Thunder River Vintage Nationals to be held on September 3rd at the Darlington Raceway. Bob Yonkee has set up a Vintage day where there will be something for everyone! Car Show, Swap Meet, On Track Pace Laps, On Track Fast Laps and Vintage Racing. This should be one of Wisconsin's biggest events of the year! Don't miss it!!  More news will follow as it becomes available. Or log on to their web site.  www.lafayettecountyspeedway.com  for more info. The event will be co-hosted by the Vintage Modified Stock Car group and the Milwaukee Stock Car Auto Racing Association.

June 2005
Our first two shows in May were very successful. "Race Into Summer" at the Swan City Park on May 29th was a great time as usual. Our group displayed 12 cars which was the most of any club that was there. The weather co-operated and a good time was had by all. Thanks to all who attended. The following day we were asked to have some cars to be on display at The Raceway at Powercom Park. 9 cars attended this one. once again the weather was great and we were treated to some exciting races after the show. Please contact me soon if you are going to bring a car to the Wind Lake Show on the 26th of June. I need a car count. John Frank will bring his fabulous modified model collection to this show. They are really something to see! I have been contacted by Scott Ferris who wishes to invite any of our cars to participate at the 4th annual Port Fish Day car and truck show in Port Washington, WI. on July 16th. They will wave the registration fee for our cars. Again, I need a car count as soon as possible. Steve Zautke informed me that the "Racing with the Legends" show scheduled for July 22nd has been changed to an "Open Wheel Legends" vintage event. It is open to open wheel cars from Indy Cars to Modifieds and everything in between! Participants will receive complimentary tickets for the IRL races that weekend. Any questions ? May 2005
The May Newsletters are running a little late, I hope to have them out by the middle of the month. Upcoming shows for May and June are as follows:
  • Sunday May 29th: Race into Summer Car Show at Swan City Park in Beaver Dam. This show features all types of local race cars, music, and food.
  • Sunday June 12th: Our first Seymour show. This track is brand new for this year and should be a good time.
  • Sunday June 26th: The Wind Lake Lions Club. We will have a group display and trophies will be awarded. This is an excellent show set in Col. Heg Park off Hwy 36 in Wind Lake. They have music, barbecued chicken dinners and a craft fair as well.

Looking forward to seeing many new cars for this year. If weather is a factor, call me at 414-321-7948/414-315-5320 for more info.

March 2005
There are schedule changes already! First of all The Rockford show will be a MSC racing event held on the 8th of May instead of the 22nd as previously stated. Since it is the same date as Mothers Day I will not be able to attend as I'm sure many others may not as well. So, I do not anticipate a VMSC display for this event. Hopefully we can get a better date for this event next year where more of us can attend. It sounds like it would be a good time. I was also contacted by the Seymour Speedway and it looks like both the VMSC and the MSC will have a show there on June 12th (Sunday)  VMSC members should get some laps at this one. And the MSC will have races. I recently attended a Vintage show at Zephyr Hills FL. Myself, Dan Kopshe and Tim Dessereau spent the day checking out some really cool cars and some great people!

Here are a couple photos from Zephyr Hills:
